Update 2009.12.29 - Return of the son of sporadic updating - Kenny Puzzler 2 v.1.1 is now out!

To whoever thought that this site would go through an entire year without updates again, shame on you! Well, the site hasn't been updated in forever mainly because I had pretty much abandonned game making altogether, seeing that I didn't have the time or ideas to do anything worthwhile. However, I managed to get a grip on ideas, so that's already half of the equation out of the window! So, in short, I'll probably make a new game in a cloudy future, although it's way too early to say anything. But the lowdown is, I'm making something!

Having finally decided to bite it and upgrade to Multimedia Fusion 2, the first thing that it was used for was to make a patch for Kenny Puzzler 2, as the game flatout refused to play correctly on Windows Vista/7. So, for those of you who happen to have either OS, you can finally play the game! Also, the game now has an audio soundtrack and doesn't use MIDIs anymore, considering the numerous issues with the game's music using Microsoft's standard MIDI playback device. So, let's hear it for my first game to feature an entirely original soundtrack that isn't MIDI!

Patch notes go like this:

- Fixed major crashing issues in Windows 7/Vista regarding the Alpha Channel and Speech Bubble Objects
- The soundtrack is no longer in MIDI format in order to solve the problems with MIDI files playing incorrectly on the Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth
- The game uses DirectX to render graphics (which means DirectX 9 is required to run the game)
- Fixed various bugs regarding the menus
- Hint system is no longer deactivated by default
- There are now hints for the latter half of the Insane difficulty

If you've never played the game, now is the time to do so! If you already did, now is the time to go back and replay it so that you can finally beat it! Download the game here now!

Anyway, I am wishing happy holidays to whoever still visits this website! Hope you had a great Christmas and have a Happy New Year. Here's to hoping there'll be more updates for this site.

Update 2008.03.08 - An update? A new game? What's happening?!?

First of all, kudos to whoever actually still reads this site, despite the absence of updates for about... 2 years. Shortly after that last update, I pretty much lost interest in game making... only to gain interest again about a year later. Hurrah for being incredibly undecisive! I started work on a new game and decided to keep it under wraps so that it would be a surprise to everybody.

This new game is a direct sequel to my first game ever released, which was Kenny Puzzler! It's been a while since I actually made a puzzle game, so I thought it would be fun to revisit this old territory again while scrapping the horrible design decisions I made back then (15-year olds aren't really well known for having good design for their games).

Anyway, make way for Kenny Puzzler II - Vertical Dimension, which also happens to be my first new game in 3 years. This platformer puzzle game takes again the good elements of its predecessor while offering a brand new gameplay experience due to its new platform perspective. You'll have to guide Kenny through many challenging obstacles, such as laser cannons and bullies with a drill on their arm, using a vast array of 9 skills. With over 30 levels, your wits and skills will be throughfully tested!

So yeah, if you're reading this, download the game now! Thanks for reading.

Update 2006.01.18 - Music to kick your year out of here plus some awards stuff, woo!

Wooo! First update of the year... so happy new year to all of you site's visitors! Now that this New Year crap is out of the way, there is new music available on the site! Firstly, the 2006 midi section has been opened, featuring my first midi of the new year! It is a sequel to my Departure series, bringing things up to the third installment. This time, the tune is going straight in heavy metal territory with some crazy harmonies and solos galore. In addition, there is a pretty neat MP3 version of that same song available in the other music page! There is also another song added up the other music page, which is a old song I previously lost, but managed to retrieve lately. Check out the tune called Kromstrein Procedure.

Finally, this site managed to win some awards lately from The South Park Gaming Archives. The site's first award show has taken place, and yours truly managed to rack up some awards in the process. Here are the awards that have been won:

  • Best Action Platformer - Planet of Cartmans 2
  • Best Cutscenes - Planet of Cartmans 2
  • Most Original Game Concept - Planet of Cartmans (What the hell?)
  • Best South Park Game of All Time - Planet of Cartmans 2 (Wooo!)

So, there you have it. I'm so glad to see that spending 4 years working on this game managed to net me awards in web form. This is so... great. I guess. ;)

Good bye!

Update 2005.12.16 - Whew, lots of stuff coming down!

It's been a while since this site has been updated, but hey! I wanted to make updates on this site worthwhile, and since I've been pretty busy these last months, I haven't been able to work on much material. Now that school is over, that'll give me some well needed spare time! At least, for a while. ;)

First of all, there's a new game available on the games page! Yeah, this comes out pretty suddently, seeing I never announced or even planned myself to make this game... anyway, this brand new game is called Professor Chaos in Frosty's Revenge! It's a short and sweet platformer in which the title pretty much explains everything. You play as Butters and you must stop Frosty. It's a rather quick game (it took only 3 weeks to create!) but it's pretty fun to play nonetheless. It's been made for the South Park Gaming Archives' Game Contest, where it won in the Hardcore category. Weee, or something. :p

In other news, Planet of Cartmans 2 got its first semi-official review ever! CNET has recently reviewed the game, giving the game a very acceptable 4 stars rating. Wooo, this almost makes the game feel like important. :) Anyway, I wish to thank everyone for having downloaded and played the game, I'm glad to notice that the game hasn't been released in vain.

Finally, some new midis have been added into the 2005 page. Grab them while they're hot! Most of them are actually songs that are several years old, yet only decided to complete recently. Anyway, have fun listening!

This is it for today! Bye!

Update 2005.10.25 - Planet of Cartmans 2 v.1.2 is now released, new midi!

Hello there, new update! The discoveral of several bugs in Planet of Cartmans 2 (which have been mostly discovered by TCH, thanks a lot!) has got me around making a new patch in order to fix these problems. The following issues have now been fixed in this new version.

  • In the final battle, Mutant Cartman can’t exit the battlefield forever anymore
  • Load screen couldn't load the final boss battle and ending, this has been fixed
  • In the first Cartman battle, Cartman can’t push you out of the playfield anymore
  • In Level 4-3, the water jet was able to shoot with no ammo left, this is now fixed
  • The fire shaft section of Level 7-4 should run faster on slower processors

This new version is pretty much the same in filesize and everything else, but if any of these issues prevented you from finishing the game or you just want to have an updated version of the game, just go to the game's page or better yet, click the New Game link you can see on the upper right corner of the site!

I've also done something which I haven't done since a long while: release a midi! I've been pretty busy these past few months and a great deal of my music output was for either inside projects of mine that I'm making, projects by other friends of mine or even commercial-related projects (Gasp!). This new midi sets a record for the most litterate and cumbersome song's name yet, as it is entitled Carbon Wired Steel Forest Trees Awaken And Take Over The Land In A Massive Violent Outburst Before The Night. Anyway, hope you enjoy! Meanwhile, I'm signing off for tonight, so see you all later.

Update 2005.10.14 - OH NO! The site is now bleeding!

Relax, the site is all right and it is not bleeding. It just has got through a new makeup once more! Keeping up with a seemingly tradition of changing the site's look once every two years, I'm following suit with a quite more classic-looking layout this time, which happens to be really reddish. I do think this layout is a bit more bright than the previous, which is quite a nice change from the dark layouts this site once had. Great thanks goes out of course to my friend Jussi from volunteering once again to make this site look great!

Site-wise, some things have changed. The games page has been simplified quite a great bit, seriously trimming down the size of the page and opting to place individual game descriptions up their own page. There also are screenshots that accompany every game up the site now, so you now know whether you should download a game here or not. How sweet!

Save from the games page, things have stayed pretty much the same way, except with the removal of the other games section. Although this section had served a good purpose back in the days where the South Park gaming community wasn't large and people needed hosting for their games, it isn't the case anymore and therefore has been removed. Now if I can find a new section to replace that one...

Anyway, this is it for today. If you find any broken links or have anything to say about the new layout, please tell me about it either by email or on the site's forum. Enough rambling, I'm leaving for now.

See you all in a later update!
