Disclaimer about the midis page

This page is full of these little nifty musical files we call "Midis" and which send many events to your soundcard to play some rather weird tunes. It is a popular song format nonetheless, since it's very small and easy to make. Midis has been used in many kind of productions, gaming-related or not.

The midis found in that page are freeware. You can freely use the songs found on this page as long you do credit me for the music and the use of these are for non-commercial purposes. If you use my songs anywhere, you may even drop me a email and show me how you've used them. :)

Good listening!!

PS. The ratings on that page obviously do not reflect the global rating of that midi, it's just used by me to highlight which songs of mine I prefer and/or hate.

Midis - 2001

Rampant Virus

Dark, ambient tune with a nice guitar lead. This is in my opinion one of the best midis I've made. Featured in the Top 10 MIDIS of 2001.

Rating: 10/10

Fatal Encounters

A ballistic rock tune with horrible panning that fits the "boss song" bill quite nicely. A Cartman Force tune.

Rating: 6/10

Encampements

A sparse, slow-going pop tune that decides to turn the heat up near the middle with faster drums and hard-hitting synth bass. Simple enough. A Cartman Force tune.

Rating: 6/10

I Can Smell Death Coming

An eerie, tense tune that actually works. A Cartman Force tune.

Rating: 7/10

Doomsday

A minimalistic sounding piece conveying the feeling of doom. Not that convincing in the end. A Cartman Force tune.

Rating: 5/10

Bowed to Fear

Pop-like tune that uses some bell-sounding instruments to carry a rather eerie mood. Really repetitive, although works well as a game tune despite having a really dull chord progression. A Cartman Force tune.

Rating: 6/10

The Deepest Fears

Tense, atmospheric song that pinpoints that hell is all loose. Repetitive, yet actually rather intense and uses some rock elements to intensify it's effect. A Cartman Force tune. Was featured in the Top 10 MIDIS of 2001.

Rating: 7/10

Highway To Hell

Has nothing to do with the similary-named song from AC/DC. Ambient tune that is sometimes interspersed with vague guitar leads (which unfortunately sound clumsy). Still bears a decent atmosphere. A Cartman Force tune.

Rating: 6/10

Facing The Evil

Epic, yet rather short techno tune accompanied with rather dynamic basslines, melodies and sounds a lot like Final Fantasy 7's final boss soundtrack at moments. One of the better tunes I made for Cartman Force, in my opinion.

Rating: 7/10

Landyard

Back when I wrote this song, I thought the title made no sense. I still think the same now. A rather standard pop tune with a weak bass line and some convincing brass sections to boost it up. A Cartman Force tune.

Rating: 6/10

Painful Paths

A really basic, yet actually rather tense song with some sparse taiko drum hits and string sections. Has a nice ambience. A Cartman Force tune.

Rating: 6/10

Nightfall

Yet another hard-hitting techno song with brass tones that has no originality whatsoever. Works well as a game tune, but isn't really that great as an individual song. A Cartman Force tune.

Rating: 6/10

Technomanic

What the title says. A big, dumb sounding techno tune that feels like entirely taken from Stanster's South Park Omega Project. The song earns some points for it's energy, although it's certainly not original. A Cartman Force tune.

Rating: 6/10

Desperate Fight (Cartman Force's theme)

An upbeat, straight-forward techno song mixed with simplistic guitars. Not something to be excited about, but way better than my first attempt at a theme song for the game for sure, and actually rather well composed for an early tune. A Cartman Force tune.

Rating: 7/10

Close Quarters

Dramatic techno tune with many fast and agressive passages, maintening more or less of an epic feeling through the tune. Was used in the game Cartman's Adventure 4 by Beamer. An updated version of this tune appears in Planet of Cartmans 2.

Rating: 7/10

Jungle Bangle

Jungle-like song with techno tones and pretty clumsy synth pads. Nice try, but there's too much dissonance in it to be somehow enjoyable.

Rating: 4/10

Let's Save the World

Title screen song written for my upcoming game Planet of Cartmans 2, but won't be used. Techno-ish song with some little brass tones added to it.

Rating: 7/10

Erratic Jungle

Ambient-ish, environnemental outsdoors song. There's way too much noise in there. Written for POC2, will not be used.

Rating: 5/10

Ambient song with some minor techno-ish touches added to it. The middle section sounds a bit weird, but the other sections are well done. Written for POC2 and will not be used.

Rating: 7/10

Another average techno-ish song. The brass sections sound a bit too random in it. Written for POC2, but will not be used.

Rating: 6/10

Techno-ish song which is highly inspired by Unreal Tournament. There's some good parts. Composed for POC2 and will not be used.

Rating: 7/10

Annoying, trumping heavy synth song which will persuade any player to not be game over!! Composed in 15 minutes for Hallway Deathtrap, and wasn't used.

Rating: 3/10

Unoriginal technoish song backed up with my unseparable string instruments. Not badly made, but this song is still not very enjoyable. Composed for Hallway Deathtrap and wasn't used.

Rating: 5/10

I must have been very disturbed when I made this. Some slow organ tune mixed with synth leads which afterwards blend into a shitty unoriginal ska tune which sounds like crap. Uhh, very disturbing indeed. Composed for Hallway Deathtrap and was thanksfully never used!

Rating: 4/10

Funky little ditty with slap basses, trumpet solos and other misc. stuff. Doesn't seem to go anywhere. Composed for Hallway Deathtrap, and was not used.

Rating: 6/10

Creepy, scary string ditty. The song sounds pretty good and moody until this stupid contrabass messed it up.

Rating: 6/10

Synth ballad going through many parts. Pretty good song, although the low string riffs which play later in the song aren't much helpful to the song.

Rating: 7/10

Scary, orchestral song ornated with not-so-pretty heavy, unoriginal synth leads. The name of the song says it all.

Rating: 5/10

Sci-fi song with slow creepy flute parts and some fast hectic parts. Doesn't sound well on most soundcards. Inspired by the Deus Ex soundtrack.

Rating: 7/10

Slow, calm, happy pop-like song. Was composed for CF, but wasn't included in the game.

Rating: 6/10

One of my earlier attempts at a rock song. Pretty well done song overall, especially for it's time.

Rating: 7/10

Rapid, aggressive techno song which barely make any sense at all. Fear it!

Rating: 5/10

A remix of a song by Stanster, which appeared in an early demo of Halloween Kyle. The reason it's called "Doom remix" is because I tryed emulating the music style heard in Doom. Episode 1, Level 2. :) Ok tune, but very repetitive.

Rating: 6/10

Spacey like song with saw leads and everything else you'd want. Kinda groovy.

Rating: 8/10

Machines

Techno-grunge ditty. Pretty simple, yet effective.

Rating: 7/10

Hi-trech

Incredibly weird techno tune. The melody's somehow cool, although the leads are a bit dissonant in that song.

Rating: 6/10

A Bit Closer to Light

A cover of my song Milestones, with a better structure and neater melody. Featured in the Top 10 MIDIS 2000. This is an updated version.

Rating: 9/10

A Walk in the Mountains

Classical guitar outsdoors track. Sounds pretty neat. Written for Kenny Puzzler 2 - The Fatass War, and the game never was finished.

Rating: 8/10

Unlikely

Techno-ish song with an annoying blip melody through it. It could be nice if it was reworked on. As for now, there's too many bad notes to disturb the listening.

Rating: 5/10

Puzzled Ways

String melody with some good bassline. Highly inspired by the Worms Armageddon soundtrack. My 100th midi ever composed.

Rating: 7/10

Dark Halls

Yet another ambient-ish song, we never get tired of those! Some nice parts, but nothing impressive.

Rating: 6/10

Forbidden Building

A pretty mixed up track. I'm not quite sure if the techno-like theme of the song works with the softening piano leads. The chord progression's also weird at places to me...oh well.

Rating: 6/10

Creepers

Ambient, scary song with an instrument build-up. Doesn't fare well in the variety department.

Rating: 6/10

Ready for Campaign

Some sort of military march. Nothing much outstanding, but it's not too shabby neither.

Rating: 7/10

Lost in the Fogs

Calm and ambient-ish techno song. I like the melody in it, but it's too damn repetitive.

Rating: 6/10

Insiders

Creepy, crappy highly-disorganized song . Would be best defined as "bunch of weird chord progressions thrown in a blender".

Rating: 4/10

Scare Away

Ambient-ish creepy song with organs, guitars and strings. Nice melody, although some of the notes are a bit off.

Rating: 7/10

On the Roads

Short techno ditty with a cheesy lead. Originally written for CS Racing's title screen, but the game never was finished as far as I know. There's a longer remix available which was made by Beamer.

Rating: 7/10

Call to Arms

Orchestral military march. Sounds OK. Used in the Cartman Force trailer.

Rating: 7/10

Wrong Way (Creepy remix)

A remix of a song originally written by Stanster. Stays true to the original song while adding some original parts. You can hear the original song into the game SP:OP.

Rating: 7/10

Approach of Death

Techno music meets Halloween. Got a nice spooky/scary feel.

Rating: 8/10

Wendy's Rave (Heavy Christmas Remix)

Incredibly silly song. It started off as a attempt to make a Christmas-sounding tune but continues into a remix of Wendy's Rave by Stanster when I ignored how to continue the tune. Fun song. :) Used in POC.

Rating: 7/10

It's Over

Emotional, yet incredibly simple sad ditty. The only song I ever wrote using NoteWorthy Composer. Used in POC.

Rating: 6/10

Cartman HQ

Cartman's HQ's theme. Orchestral-like stuff or something. Used in POC.

Rating: 6/10

POC Cutscene 3

A cutscene music for POC.

Rating: 7/10

Land of the Dead

Extremely creepy song. I really mean it. Used in POC.

Rating: 6/10

Dark Descent

Eerie, synth track. Some sort of cover done for a song which appeared in Wolfenstein: Spear of Destiny, which was my original level intro song :p. Used in POC.

Rating: 7/10

POC Cutscene 2

A cutscene music for POC.

Rating: 6/10

POC Cutscene 1

A cutscene music for POC.

Rating: 5/10

Confrontation

Heavy, disorganized guitar track written for POC.

Rating: 6/10

Doom Seal (Factory Remix)

Remix of my older song Doom Seal. The song's a bit more melodic and smooth, but still contain the same shamelessly ripped-off parts. Man I suck. :) Used in POC.

Rating: 6/10

Space Explorers

A nice little spacey song which is rather relaxing. Used in POC.

Rating: 7/10

Look Behind

Credits piece for POC. The song do suck a bit (it's only 3 instruments) but the remix surely do better justice to the song. :) Download it here.

Rating: 5/10
Remix's rating: 8:10

Darkness Shall Fall

Cool sounding orchestral-like song with a synth bass lead. Second favorite song of POC. :)

Rating: 8/10

The Ultimate Faceoff

Tense orchestral track. The only reason why it is so long was to prevent the song from looping and slowing down the game during an important moment. :) Used in POC.
