Disclaimer about the midis page

This page is full of these little nifty musical files we call "Midis" and which send many events to your soundcard to play some rather weird tunes. It is a popular song format nonetheless, since it's very small and easy to make. Midis has been used in many kind of productions, gaming-related or not.

The midis found in that page are freeware. You can freely use the songs found on this page as long you do credit me for the music and the use of these are for non-commercial purposes. If you use my songs anywhere, you may even drop me a email and show me how you've used them. :)

Good listening!!

PS. The ratings on that page obviously do not reflect the global rating of that midi, it's just used by me to highlight which songs of mine I prefer and/or hate.

Midis - 2002

Castle of Despair

Fast-paced techno, trancey song that somehow features a medieval and dark theme. Inspired by the Eternal Daughter soundtrack. Written for POC2 and will not be used.

Rating: 7/10

Virus Lab

A dark and scary song portraying a dark laboratory where sick experiments take place. A song originally written for POC2 but won't be used.

Rating: 7/10

Cartman Force Arena Theme

Quick song I've composed for Cartman Force Arena's menu when my DMC2 object didn't played MOD files correctly. Your standard metal/techno song which is kinda repetitive.

Rating: 7/10

Crawling Triads

Another ROTT-inspired song! These midis never get old, isn't it? It's a good song, but it drags on quite a bit.

Rating: 7/10

Emotional piano ballad. Quite a change from my midi writing style. Sounds quite nice, although a bit repetitive at spots.

Rating: 8/10

My own MIDI version of the original Christmas song. Used as the main title song of Santa's Quest.

Rating: 7/10

Experimental ditty with weird guitars, weird drum track, weird everything. It's weird like hell, still I do like it quite a bit...

Rating: 7/10

Aggresive, fast techno song with a scary feel. I'm not quite sure that the song will run correctly on many soudcards due to the abuse of patches for some instruments. Inspired by Apogtygma Berzerk.

Rating: 7/10

A small little ditty with guitars, synth leads and other stuff. My first midi to be composed in Cakewalk Sonar. Fair enough, but doesn't stand against my more recent outings.

Rating: 7/10

Fantasy-like, wacky, adorable song like I rarely ever make. One of my better melodies so far. The only reason why I don't rate it 10/10 is because it reminds me a McDonalds commercial for some reason. Whoops!!

Rating: 9/10

Sad eerie guitar song with nice flute melodies. It's a bit repetitive, but I love the way this tune flows, and makes for good background music.

Rating: 9/10

Heavy guitar song with your usual cheesy leads. :) I like how it sounds, but structurally this song really sucks. I really must stick with a definite song theme instead of making all sorts of random parts :)

Rating: 8/10

The 80s suck!!

Ok...I kinda lost my mind when I've made this as game music :) Disco-like happy tune with organ hits, ghetto beats, and what makes your typical disco tune. Not too bad, but I've never really been fond of disco music. :) Written for CF Arena, but was never used.

Rating: 7/10

Soft, eerie song using synth and crystal-like instruments. Written for CF Arena, and was not used.

Rating: 7/10

A soft ballad with strings and piano parts. A bit like Final Goodbye, but the melody is a bit happier, and I didn't screwed up all my piano parts this time! W00t!!

Rating: 9/10

Techno-ish song with a neat melody. This song is dedicated to my cable connection which wasn't working. WORK, DANGIT!! Oh, oops it works now :p

Rating: 9/10

Fast rock song with soft synths and chimes. A bit in the fantasy music style. It is somehow long, but the song doesn't get repetitive. Neat song.

Rating: 8/10

Extremly weird synth song with an even more weirder drum track. Too weird to be a good song I think...

Rating: 5/10

A nice little synth ballad with a catchy lead. My first ever song ever written in 3/4, and I like it.

Rating: 8/10

Energic song which goes under many different hard and soft parts. Long and entertaining.

Rating: 8/10

Spider Monkeys

Hardcore heavy-metal song with some cheesy demo leads and a stupid name. My best attempt at heavy music so far. This and 9 other tracks are available on the Oblivion Musicdisk. There's a remix available which was made by Beamer.

Rating: 9/10

Lone Soul

Mellow piano song with relaxing synths and lead. Pretty nice song overall. This and 9 other tracks are available on the Oblivion Musicdisk.

Rating: 8/10

Factory Mischief (Speedway Mix)

Remix of an old POC song with heavy guitars and dance beats. The main chorus kinda reminds me of a racing game song, hence the remix's name :) You can find the original Factory Mischief in the 2000 section.

Rating: 8/10

Bottomless Fall

Another cheesy demo lead track. It is quite in the same style than Foul Digital. Some nice parts.

Rating: 8/10

Foul Digital

Heavily Rise of The Triad influenced track. The leads in the track sound like one of the in-game songs. I like it.

Rating: 8/10

Sneaking up the Barracks

Orchestral, tense military track. Just imagine being a spy sneaking in a high-security base looking for highly important enemy documents with the constant fear of being spotted by the mercyless guards ordered to kill on sight. An MP3 version of the song is also available.

Rating: 7/10

Atari Rules

Extremly weird cheesy square lead song. An attempt at making Atari-styled music, and the results rather suck. Distorted and ugly.

Rating: 5/10

Valley of The Sea (midi remix)

A midi translation of a MOD called Valley of the Sea, written by Kenny Chou, which you can download here. For the most part, it stays faithful to the original song, but the ending has been seriously messed up. It's a nice song, still.

Rating: 7/10

Striker

Hardcore heavy-metal song. Feels a bit loose.

Rating: 6/10

Hyper-repetitive techno song. It sounds pretty good, but the lack of variation in this 6 minute song make it suck. I did made this in only 30 minutes though ;)

Rating: 6/10

Another attempt as a ROTT-ish song. I really gotta stop listening to these awesome midis someday. Some parts are really good, while others could be better.

Rating: 7/10

Simple heavy-metal song combined with soft strings. Not too deep, but pretty well made.

Rating: 8/10

Final Goodbye

Sad, mellow melody with a soft theme. Dedicated to any people like me who beared the loss of irreplacable friends and family members through their lives. Hope this song will ease your mind.

Rating: 9/10

Hyperdrive

Heavy techno tune with a spacey feel. Not too shabby, although the bass section is a bit off at places.

Rating: 7/10

The first song I've wrote in 2002. Pretty soft eerie ballad, but the piano parts still doesn't feel right... I've really gotta work on them.

Rating: 7/10
