Disclaimer about the other music page

This page contains all of the music that isn't in midi format. Even though most of the music in that page is nothing to brag about as far than commercial and demoscene music goes, I thought it would be interesting to release my first attempts at tracked music just in order to make you see that being able to make midis isn't enough to be a full fledged musician. :)

Still, some of the songs in there are nice, even with their low-fi quality, all the ripped samples and the rather amateur technique and mixing involved. I'll eventually manage to get better at this someday, maybe that opening this page will encourage me to do more tracker experiments. :)

The songs found in that page are freeware. You can freely use the songs found on this page as long you do credit me for the music and the use of these are for non-commercial purposes. If you use my songs anywhere, you may even drop a email and show me how you've used them :)

Good listening!!

Please note: In order to open most of the files referred to as modules, you'll need a program being able to read music modules files. I recommend ModPlug Player to play most of these tunes, please note that no other player have been tested. Other files, such as MP3 or OGG, can be played on a program like Winamp.

The other music

Departure 3 - Chemical Voyage

A rock/metal ditty which has been mainly inspired by a drinking binge which got a bit too far. A lot heavier than my usual material, and pretty well made, to boot. Stands up pretty well next to the other Departure songs. This is the audio version of the midi found in the 2006 section.

Year: 2006
Filesize: 8.03 mb
Type: MP3
Rating: 9/10

Dying Stars

Experimental techno tune that is both glitch-inspired and have a rather poppy feeling to it. My best tune so far on a technical standpoint. I wish I could say the same for composition here, but it's still a pretty enjoyable tune that beat the releases found at the bottom of the page. :)

Year: 2005
Filesize: 6.82 mb
Type: OGG
Rating: 7/10

Monuments of Treason

An attempt at making a rock song that has both progressive overtones as well than orchestral arrangements. As good as the tune is, the rather crappy electric distorted guitar ruins the tune's slickness. A midi version of the tune can be found in the 2005 midis section.

Year: 2005
Filesize: 7.88 mb
Type: OGG
Rating: 8/10

Autopsy

A rather weird techno tune which both crosses the line between danceable fare, ambient freakiness and experimentalism. A rather unusual tune coming from me, but this makes for a really enjoyable listen. Created in Cakewalk Sonar using several bundles of free Soundfonts.

Year: 2005
Filesize: 10.00 mb
Type: OGG
Rating: 8/10

Plastic Puppet

My first attempt at a heavy percussion-driven track. It's not a very melodic venture, but the heavy rhythm which drives the tune makes for it for sure. Created in Cakewalk Sonar using several bundles of free Soundfonts.

Year: 2005
Filesize: 5.49 mb
Type: OGG
Rating: 7/10

Kromstrein Procedure

Dirty, experimental industrial track with incredibly weird noises and parts. Not quite your casual easy listening track. One of my first attempts with using Soundfonts in the conception of a song.

Year: 2005
Filesize: 3.87 mb
Type: OGG
Rating: 6/10

The Stones of Cartmanmania

My favorite tune from all of the game tunes I composed and sequenced for my game Planet of Cartmans 2. A really tense, epic and bombastic orchestral tune that is all around the place. This was the song playing in Level 7-1 (Part 2) in the game. Created in Cakewalk Sonar using several bundles of free Soundfonts. A midi version is also available in the 2004 midis section.

Year: 2004
Filesize: 9.44 mb
Type: MP3
Rating: 9/10

Claiming The Property of Stone Temple Park With A Statue On The Top

Could the song's name be any longer than that? I guess not. Electro-ambient song featuring an hip-hop influenced percussion track as well as bleeps and dark guitar melodies. One of my most straight-faced tunes since quite a while. MP3 conversion of the midi version found in the 2004 midis section.

Year: 2004
Filesize: 5.59 mb
Type: MP3
Rating: 8/10

Under The Burning Moon

Downtempo, electronic tune that has some vague rock overtones. Without a doubt the better song of the lot on this page, even though the song's all in mono. Very likeable. :)

Year: 2004
Filesize: 4.54 mb
Type: OGG
Rating: 8/10

Cheesy Demo Tune Attack

The title speaks for itself. Even though the track is quite a bunch of demo-related cheese and is quite predictable, it's actually one of my better mixed modules in the lot.

Year: 2004
Filesize: 663 kb
Type: IT (Module)
Rating: 7/10

Assault

Fast-paced rock song that manages to be more action-inspired and uplifting as well. A bit too cartoony for it's worth and the technique is somewhat butchered at places.

Year: 2003
Filesize: 235 kb
Type: IT (Module)
Rating: 6/10

The Wanderer

Mellow rock song with a guitar lead that's somehow erratic at parts. The guitar lead is sometimes all messed up, but this is a lot better structurally than many of my tunes. Nice mood.

Year: 2002
Filesize: 1.48 mb
Type: IT (Module)
Rating: 7/10

Cartman Force Arena Theme

Metal song that I composed for Cartman Force Arena, but ended up not using. Really messy and not as good than Cartman's Force midi theme song.

Year: 2002
Filesize: 1.06 mb
Type: IT (Module)
Rating: 5/10

Lost In His Own Mind

Demo-ish tune which borrows lots of antic samples from really old MODs. Despite the low-fi samples, it's actually pretty well composed and enjoyable.

Year: 2002
Filesize: 301 kb
Type: IT (Module)
Rating: 7/10

Forbidden Paradise

Ambient, percussion-based song with lots of warm pads and weird sound effects and blips. Apart from some bad bass slides, this is an actually rather cool song. Inspired by demoscene musician Basehead.

Year: 2002
Filesize: 1.60 mb
Type: IT (Module)
Rating: 6/10

Unforgivable Pain

Slow, eerie ballad which erupts afterwards into a full fledged technoish attack. The first part is pretty well done, but the second part lacks definition and kinda bites. Okay song, I guess.

Year: 2002
Filesize: 1.41 mb
Type: IT (Module)
Rating: 5/10

The Lost Kids's Theme

A brassy song filled with some techno-ish tones, once again. Not that great sounding, many out of tune instruments... was an attempt to make a menu tune for The Lost Kids, but it has thanksfully never been used.

Year: 2002
Filesize: 147 kb
Type: IT (Module)
Rating: 3/10

Awaken Spirit

Some low-key, technoish slow tune featuring some ambient pads and a cheesy melody. Technically well made, but not really thrilling.

Year: 2002
Filesize: 112 kb
Type: S3M (Module)
Rating: 5/10

Star Barrier

Ambient techno featuring an etheral and desolate atmosphere. Even though the technique is pretty nasty at places, it do sound pretty good for being an incredibly early tune. Isn't related to the midi song that shares the same name in the 2001 midis section.

Year: 2001
Filesize: 295 kb
Type: IT (Module)
Rating: 6/10

Creepers in The Hallway

My very first module ever made in Modplug Tracker. As you can guess by now, it's complete crap. Boring melody and crappy samples make for a bad, bad tune.

Year: 2001
Filesize: 104 kb
Type: IT (Module)
Rating: 2/10
